Hey man, nice build. I just finished building the Astraea Type F as well, that's what led me here actually! I stuck with the regular Type F, thought it looked a bit cooler. I like both heads and wish they were a bit easier to swap. If you look through the extra parts you can actually make another head, you just don't have the PC joint to attach it.

A few pointers before you get started on a MG kit. Get a black fine point Gundam Marker for the panel lines. It adds a lot of depth and is really easy to do. On my first Gundam I built everything then added the panel lines. For this kit I added the panel lines as I built it, which was a lot easier.

For sanding/trimming I use an Exacto knife to trim as close as possible. This is often enough, but you can still sand down if there is some remaining. This also makes a huge difference in the look of your model.

Great looking figure. Sadly I only heard of the series last year and wish I could find one of those figures now. Any suggestions on where to try since even ebay is a no go?

http://gundam.wikia.com/wiki/GNY-001_Gundam_Astraea

Basically after 0 Gundam, Krung Thep started plans for the 2nd generation of Gundams using 0 Gundam as the basis

GNY-001 Gundam Astraea - specialized in melee-medium range. Was the basis of Exia
GNY-002 Gundam Sadalsuud - specialized in medium-long range. Equipped with a Rifle/Bazooka with various types of shell ammunition and its body sports numerous sensors far superior to Dynames (Gundam 00F 2nd chapter Dynames vs Sadalsuud)
GNY-003 Gundam Abulhool - a fighter with a hidden mobilesuit mode. Equipped with plasma based engines aside from the GN Drive making it appear as a normal fighter
GNY-004 Gundam Plutone - A mobile suit with a core fighter attached to the GN Drive. The body is fitted with various GN Condensers. This mobile suit was the basis of Nadleeh (most likely the GN Condensers load-out was applied to the Virtue as well). A black Gundam Plutone was seen later in 00F piloted by Bring Stability and became the basis of the Innovator suits. In 00P and 00F this is the MS with the most tragic backstory.

In 00F, Fereshte ( a sub-group of Celestial Being) starts operation alongside the 4 Gundam Meisters in 00 behind the scene. The Astrea and Sadalsud were repainted and equipped with face masks to hide their identities as Gundam and designated -F. Later on (volume 2 of 00F) both units were upgraded with Astrea Type F2 receiving parts similar to Exia's.

Zeonic-Corps is currently scanlating 00F with volume 1&2 already finished.
