Anime tissue packets

Was doing some room cleaning and found these tissue packets that i have kept for at least 10 years. Kinda smells and has yellow spots too. Back then, there were quite a few anime printed tissue packets here, mostly Clamp series. Does not look like its legally printed. Should i throw them away??

I used to watch lots of dubbed anime on TV many years ago, but as with most things, they deteriorate over the years. Dubbing is uncool now.

Lets hope SIngapore will have Meido-sans handling out free anime tissue packets, and I’ll keep them till they smell.

Megami June Preview

We have figure previews and anime previews, so why not have some magazine previews for a change? Although i believe it does not matter since we’re going to get them anyway.

But thats not my main point! Megami is gonna have D.C.2.S.S. as the cover page!! Lets see, we have a bunch of nice anime this season like ToLoveRu and you-name-it, but Da capo, which many thinks it Da Crapo, managed to appear as cover for June’s edition. The fanboy in me is glad.

Do look out for the in depth review on D.C.2.S.S and the Clannad’s Book in Book. Only 1 B2 poster for freebies :(.

Figures that you have regretted not pre-ordering?

Have you had this terrible experience that makes you fall to your knees crying for mummy? I did. Having just stepped into the workforce, i still dont have the ability to have a Gold Card, which means i have to go through by the means of third parties, and i cant pre-order at will. Below are some of the figures i can think of, theres more definitely.

Plastic aroma

Ahh, my room is revived with new plastic smell. It has been a while since i get this kinda smell when i open my figures.

I will keep this post short as i don’t want my blog to look like its giving out too much “showing off” vibes ^^”.

Life is unfair. Someone has the secret Haruhi in series 1, and the secret frog Mikuru in series 2, while i have 2 Kyons. I gave up the frog Mikuru for Kyon’s sis, yes i have the hots for imoutos, as there is only 1 of her (why is there only 1???).

For figure reviews, i think i wont be doing that for some time, until theres a figure that will make me go ZOMG, for example… Figma Nanoha. Another point, there seems to be a lot of bloggers whom have already done some great reviews for Shinra-sama and Petit Haruhi 2.

So what direction exactly is this blog heading towards? I am teh phail.

Otaku’s 3rd Hobby?

A friend of mine recently told me that he wants to buy a new camera. Which got me into thinking, theres another activity that Otakus are quite obsessed about, some may even not notice it themselves. Photography! Yes photography. While we are not going for any award winning slice of life photos, some of us will still buy expensive cameras with leet macro lenses, just visualise the peeps at Akihabara.

And unless we have Idols in bikinis for us to shutter away like in Japan (No Mrs Wide Open please), the only thing that we will shoot are our figures. Bringing those cameras to a birthday party would be funny ^^. I wouldnt even want to waste my energy on Singapore or Taiwan artistes. But wait! Theres Cosplay events too. I’ve seen many people with these, and they usually occupy the front spaces, blinding you with their flashes.

At some point of time, i had the thought of buying a Nikon camera with uber leet macro lenses and stand too, which might cost as much as my monthly salary. Of course i will regret buying one if i did. However, looking at my noob figure reviews, i can only give a deep sigh. After trying out a few figure reviews, it is indeed a difficult hobby. Lighting, backdrop, reflection, shadow etc. I guess a normal Fujifilm Finepix will work for me for now, having a Nikon D300 is like equipping a Strike Gundam with I.W.S.P. to fight a Jin Wasp.

With all that said, i really respect fellow comrades who bring us quality figure reviews, like otadesho.com and Moe Idolatry

This eroge has topped my ranking list, which took over D.C. II. The eroges i have played are mostly visual novel types and sometimes it would get quite boring, and the H stuffs usually happens at the end of a character’s arc. But this is quite different.
